About Baanza

Make money from your waste.

Most of what Nigerian homes and businesses throw away has a buyer. PET bottles, cartons, cans, iron, copper and batteries are all bought by collectors every day. What is missing is the connection: knowing what something is worth, finding somebody nearby who will pay for it, and trusting that both sides will be treated fairly.

Baanza is that connection. Households and businesses sell recyclables to registered collectors, called Pros, and pay Pros to take away what nobody buys. Money for a pickup is held by Baanza until the job is done, prices come only from real buyers, and when two people disagree, a person at Baanza decides.

It starts with knowing. The Baanza Academy, with the slogan Learn and Earn, is free and open to everybody before they sign up: the A to Z of waste, video courses and The Baanza Comic.
