Privacy
What this website collects about you, why, and how to have it removed.
Browsing this website
This website has no sign-in. It sets no cookies of its own and runs no advertising or tracking scripts. Like every website, the server that hosts it keeps ordinary access logs, such as the address a request came from and the page asked for.
Videos are played through YouTube's privacy-enhanced player. Nothing from YouTube loads until you press play; when you do, YouTube's own privacy policy applies to it.
When you send us a message
The contact form asks for your name, your email address, where you are, and what your message is about. Your phone number is optional and only used if you want a call back.
- Why: to reply to you, and to send The Baanza Letter or tell you when Baanza opens if that is what you asked for. Nothing else. We do not sell or share your details.
- Our basis: your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form, under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
- Where it is kept: on Baanza's web server, in a folder the public cannot reach, and in Baanza's email inbox.
- Spam protection: to stop automated spam we keep a scrambled form of the internet address a message came from for one hour. It cannot be turned back into the address.
- How long: until your question is answered, or until you leave The Baanza Letter, and then no longer than twelve months.
- Your rights: you may ask to see what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Send a message through the form and choose “Something else”.
The Baanza app
The app will collect more, such as your phone number and where to collect from, and it will tell you what and why before it does, under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. Its full privacy notice will be published here before the app opens.
