What to do with it

Sell an old lamp to a Baanza Pro. The base and stand are weighed as scrap iron, steel or aluminium, and the electrical parts count as e-waste bought per piece, at prices set by Pros and shown in the app. Keep lamps out of your general waste bin. Remove the bulb first, as fluorescent tubes and energy-saving bulbs are hazardous and need separate handling. If the lamp still works, list it in Donate and Swap instead.
